I always think I'm going to make all these fabulous meals for myself when J goes off a-conferencing to make up somehow for all these emails I get from him saying, "enjoying some incredible dim sum here in sunny Wherever" or "had a delicious breakfast burrito courtesy of Wherever State University" etc etc. But what I actually do is one of the following:
1. go to bed at 7:30 or 8pm and skip dinner
2. make one large casserole and eat it for every meal the entire time he's gone. It's good at first, but...
So this week it's broccoli and rice casserole. Mmmm. Well, and I still have the leftover squash pasta from last week, too, so it isn't _that_ monotonous.
Watched (most of) the IFC's documentary on punk last night. It is amazing to me that Jello Biafra sounds that sarcastic ALL THE TIME. Also, Henry Rollins is still my role model.
And then I go, fuck yeah, I'll do whatever I want to do!! I'll just get out there and do it, fuck the corporations!! But then it turns out that doing whatever I want to do usually involves finding wacky Swahili grammar online, eating casserole, and going to bed.
I briefly considered starting a zine, to be produced by photocopy and distributed to a lucky few, about my adventures with Swahili grammar, tea, and beads, but decided against it.previous next
