I'm attending a linguistics conferency-thing this week (a sort of week-long mini-course more than a proper conference, but people have come in from various places, so it has a conference vibe). The one I'm going to is on folk linguistics/ perceptual dialectology, and it's darn interesting, even though I keep wanting to ask how the researchers avoided throttling the many Michigan respondants who labeled their maps quite rudely, especially on the southern half.

Anyway, got the rest of my display back today, safe and sound. Slumping lazily towards my farmer's market debut this Saturday.

Think I'll go sit on the deck, drink some iced tea, and consider the situation further.
