Went to Memphis this weekend. Spigotbottom was very suspicious of the grandparents at first, but really started to warm up to them right about the time we had to leave. She's at that point where she just really wants to hang on me all the time. Frankly, it's kind of nice except when my back hurts (which is still most of the time). She has a couple of cute baby tricks now: started waving, clapping, and playing rolled-ball catch-like games. Progress! Also this thing where she puts her head to the side and says "Aaaaa" (imitating my "awwwww").

We had some good catfish, then were sorely disappointed by BBQ in Dyersburg. It was our favorite place, but the ribs were really in bad shape (Accidentally left in the smoker over the weekend? Who knows, but 'tweren't funny). We'll go back one more time, and then that's it, since it's sort of out of the way. So sad.

Other than that, just been thinking about Thanksgiving. I proposed using the dessert course as a platform to reprise/reinterpret the preceding dinner by rendering each dish again in marshmallow form (with complementary hot liquids or smore ingredients where appropriate). For some reason, J vetoed that, and wouldn't even let me keep talking about how I could do the turkey marshmallow. He's always stifling my creativity like that. ;)
