1. My cousin, an enthusiastic though I suspect liberal Christian (it's a bit complicated, and I certainly don't know the whole story of her spiritual life), posted a quote by an atheist. It was a nice quote-- not too pugnacious or anything. Then a friend of hers asked, "Why you quoting an atheist?". I am resisting the urge to respond in any of the ways that have occurred to me.

2. A friend of a friend was a guy I remembered from high school. He was in our circle for a little while, sort of, but I think we were all relieved when he moved. He was a douche. I couldn't resist looking at his profile. Yep. Still a douche!
