Went to the All Souls Procession last night. I had no idea what it was about, other than a general idea of Day of the Dead. I wasn't expecting what we found-- all of Tucson, it seemed, half of them with skull face paint on, half of them walking in the procession, the other half watching the procession. Banners of the beloved dead. Masquerade. Drums, trumpets, wedding dresses, top hats, flowers.

It may be my favorite thing about the city so far.
