Which is not to say I don't want her to love them and have lots of fun memories with them and learn what there is to learn from them. And I know it's kind of the lot of a mother, to be taken for granted that she'll be there when wanted, and pretty much disregarded otherwise. Indeed, it's a sign of a healthy parent-child relationship, I think. She's a separate person and doesn't always need me. Other people in her life are safe havens, too. I just thought that would start at, say, 12. Not 3.

Anyhow, you know I'm into honest assessment and self-reporting. It is what it is.
