It's actually a much trickier problem than I thought. Pants and socks are different from jewelry. Jewelry has a power that socks, um, do not. (Sorry, socks.) You can't just take a pattern you've got in your socks and put it on a necklace and have it do the same work, for example. I would say socks are fundamentally funny, and necklaces are fundamentally not. They can be, but they have to do a lot more work to get there.

Etc. etc.

I'm stumped, in other words.
