Q had her annual checkup yesterday. The main thing is, I mentioned to the doc that we would like her screened for Aspergers and the doc was like, "Oh, yeah. I have suspected that for years now." One or two visits a year were enough to tell? Either it is glaringly obvious to anyone who works with children, or our doc jumps to conclusions quickly. I suspect the former.
So we will take her to a psychologist and see if that person agrees. I personally feel a bit relieved that it seems to be the case-- it really would make sense of a lot of stuff she does that otherwise just seems terribly frustrating that we can't parent her out of it. And maybe we can get her some help with some of the stuff. even just having a psychologist we can occasionally shoot the shit with about it and get a well-informed perspective from...that would be good.
