I finally joined Instagram. I finally started renovating my old jewelry website to represent my current work. I only have two small embossed pieces done but I'm feeling pretty good about it. I want to do shows again, but will need a minimum of 20 designs (several quite large) to fill a booth. That will take some time. So, website. I may leave Etsy since I get very little traffic from their search. It depends on how hard it is to get a store going on the website. It's interesting-- I've got some stuff in the Etsy shop, but when I consider putting it on my website I am concerned that the photography and copy isn't up to snuff. Which tells me there is room for improvement in any case. Maybe having the comparison class being all the beautiful, professional things on Instagram instead of all of the crappy half-assed stuff on etsy is a good thing for me. Standards.
I am not sure how my aesthetic will hold up in transition to embossing. The botanicals based on cyanotypes will be a mainstay, I hope, but will people who like botanicals also like slugs and my other, more whimsical things? That target audience thing again.
