I’m doing this thing, this mending thing. It’s 2 rags that are fraying and I am sewing them together with running stitches. I think most people would not bother mending rags but I have a washcloth I did this with and now it’s my favorite, so I thought I’d do it again.

Turning rags into something useful and beautiful is a wabi sabi exercise.

But also it is the pinnacle of privilege, to get to spend one’s leisure time time consumingly mending rags.
