I want to talk about China Mieville’s October with some of the young leftists I know.

I want to figure out how to reconcile the valid critiques of individualism with my form of Satanism.

I always want to figure out how to harness my art toward useful political action.

I want to figure out what Mieville was trying to say about the role of play and art in political action in The Last Days of New Paris. “Play is insurrection in the rubble of objective chance.” This was all very literal in the book, but I can’t but feel there’s more.

I want to figure out how to do that lace stitch that has been confounding me.
