The letters on transparency —> cyanotype was a success. To do a larger piece I have to decide what the text would be, which hand, how to fold it, how to lay out the text so a meaningful part of it will be visible in the cyanotype.

My problem with text is it’s so hard to select something that fits the mood. I don’t like things that are didactic or advice-y, I don’t want anything that takes itself too seriously, I don’t want anything too frivolous, I don’t want anything totally random, it needs to evoke the same mood as what I want for the overall piece.

I envy the medieval scribes because they didn’t have a huge choice space. It was Bible, mostly. And not selected by them in any case. They could get down and do whatever the hell in the margins, and the text was what it was.
